The two arch-rivals have booked their places in the final after winning their respective semifinals. Pakistan defeated Bangladesh, while India produced a dominant performance against Sri Lanka to set up the high-voltage India-Pakistan contest.

An India vs Pakistan match always attracts huge attention, but this time the stakes are even bigger. The winner will walk away with the Asian Games gold medal.

India and Pakistan Set Up Gold Medal Clash

Pakistan became the first team to qualify for the final after defeating Bangladesh in the semifinal.

The match was reduced to 13 overs per side because of a wet outfield. Bangladesh scored 111/7 before Pakistan chased down the target, reaching 112/4 in 11.3 overs to register a six-wicket victory.

India then completely outplayed Sri Lanka in the other semifinal to confirm the final that cricket fans had been waiting for.

India scored 169/7 after batting first, with Ishan Kishan playing a brilliant unbeaten knock of 80 runs. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi also played an important attacking innings of 38 runs.

India then dominated Sri Lanka with the ball and sealed their place in the gold-medal match.

India vs Pakistan Rivalry Gets an Asian Games Final

There are very few cricket matches that generate as much excitement among fans as India vs Pakistan.

However, in recent times, the rivalry has often become one-sided, with India dominating several meetings between the two teams. Pakistan have struggled to consistently push India in these high-pressure contests.

Looking at the way India performed against Sri Lanka in the semifinal, the Indian team will enter the final with plenty of confidence.

But Pakistan cannot be taken lightly.

They have produced surprises in big matches before, and in a one-off final, one good spell or one explosive batting performance can completely change the game. India will therefore need to avoid complacency despite their strong semifinal performance.
