Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) Mr. Nags roasted Jitesh Sharma brutally in their latest episode. Jitesh found himself in an awkward spot after Mr Nags brought up his controversial “top order collapse” remark during an RCB Insider episode.
KEY POINTS
- Mr Nags questioned Jitesh Sharma over a controversial remark.
- Earlier, he wished for the RCB top-order collapse to get an opportunity.
- Comments sparked backlash among fans.
In mid-April this year, the RCB keeper-batter stated that he wants to see the top order of the team collapse in the early stage of an innings, so that he could get an opportunity to play a heroic knock.
Let my top order get collapsed: Jitesh Sharma earlier said
During the lead-up to the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL), the RCB star appeared in an online conversation with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru legend AB de Villiers. In that conversation, Sharma expressed that he has a desire to become a hero for the team.
Usually, he is a middle-order batter who comes in the middle to play powerful cameos. So, he wished to see the top order of RCB, which contains stars like Virat Kohli, captain Rajat Patidar, Phil Salt, and many others, collapse quickly so that he can come in and play a long-standing, match-winning knock.
“You won’t believe, I always pray to God, let my top order get collapsed, and I can bat and score. “I see it as an opportunity to become a hero. I always visualise such innings in my life. I am such a person; I have always wanted to do something magical. Being in the present, focus on your breathing, seeing the scoreboard, what’s required, what’s not required, calculating such things, being yourself, I think, helps me to handle that pressure,” Jitesh Sharma told AB de Villiers.
“Be yourself, focus on your own assets. What shot should be required now, which bowler is bowling, focusing on such things, so automatically your pressure just goes away,” he added further.
These comments by Jitesh Sharma initiated a widespread controversy among cricket fans across social media platforms. Many raised questions on the keeper-batter’s mentality as a team man.
Mr. Nags cooked Jitesh Sharma
In the latest episode of RCB Insider, published on YouTube on Sunday, May 3, Mr. Nags directly stated that whenever Jitesh Sharma joins any podcast, he used to make controversial comments.
“Every time you go to a podcast, you offend somebody and come out. How do you have this talent?” That’s the very first question in the video, which instantly put Jitesh Sharma on the wrong foot.
Jitesh took some time and replied
After taking a pause to process the answer in his mind, Sharma says that those comments came very naturally, and his intention was never to offend anybody. But if someone got offended, he had nothing to do with that.
“It’s natural. I don’t offend anyone. I just speak whatever comes to my mind and my heart. That’s it, and it’s up to the other people how they take it,” Jitesh Sharma replied to Mr. Nags.
