A major update arrives on Varun Chakravarthy ahead of Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) next game against the Gujarat Titans (GT), tomorrow on May 16 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Ahead of the match, there are a few updates on the ace spinner of KKR. Because of an injury in his leg, Vaun Chakravarthy missed the previous match in IPL 2026, which was in New Raipur on May 13, against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Without the spinner in the line-up, KKR suffered a defeat in the away fixture against RCB.

KKR head coach provided some light on the injury of Varun Chakravarthy
During the RCB vs KKR match, the head coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Abhishek Nayar, confirmed that the 34-year-old has an injury on his toe. According to Nayar, there was a hairline on the injured part as well. The head coach of the team provided some details on the injury, but did not mention any time frame for his return to action in the ongoing season.
“It’s not been easy for him. He’s been trying in the last couple of days to come out for the team, but maybe in the next game, if his toe gets better, he’ll come in. But there’s a small hairline on his toe, and it’s on the foot that he lands on, so it’s quite uncomfortable for him right now. We’re very hopeful that he comes back in the next game,” Nayar informed during the innings against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
