“Most complete side in the competition”

Former Mumbai Indians (MI) coach and ex-India all-rounder Robin Singh backed Gujarat Titans (GT) to win IPL 2026. The former cricketer praised the overall balance of the squad and added that the team’s strong pace attack is the biggest reason behind his prediction.

Shubman Gill’s side will take on defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday, May 26. The playoff clash will take place at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharmshala, which is set to host an IPL knockout match for the first time.

Most Complete Side in the Competition – Robin Singh Picks His IPL 2026 Winner

Robin Singh shared his prediction for the IPL 2026 playoffs on social media. The former coach stated that Gujarat Titans have a strong balance in both batting and bowling.

“If I had to pick one team to lift the IPL trophy from here, it would be the Gujarat Titans. They just look the most complete side in the competition. Their bowling & batting is looking solid. Kagiso Rabada and Siraj have proved to be a lethal combination,” Robin wrote on X.

Gujarat Titans’ Pace Attack and Top Order Make Them Serious IPL 2026 Title Contenders

Kagiso Rabada has enjoyed an excellent IPL 2026 season, taking 24 wickets in 13 matches and delivering key breakthroughs during the power play overs. Mohammed Siraj has also impressed with the new ball, claiming 17 wickets and troubling batters with his pace and movement.

The strong pace attack has been supported well by a consistent top order, making Gujarat Titans one of the most balanced teams in IPL 2026. Captain Shubman Gill and left-handed batter Sai Sudharsan have played a major role in the team’s success during the league stage.

Sai Sudharsan enters the playoffs as the leading run-scorer of the tournament with 638 runs in 13 matches. Shubman Gill has also enjoyed an excellent season, scoring 616 runs while leading from the front and controlling the innings during the powerplay overs.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Face Bowling Concerns Ahead of Qualifier 1

Royal Challengers Bengaluru will enter Qualifier 1 with concerns over their bowling attack despite finishing at the top of the standings. RCB recently suffered a heavy 55-run defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) after conceding 255 runs.

The experienced pace pair of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood struggled badly in that match, conceding a combined 106 runs in eight overs. RCB have allowed opposition teams to score more than 200 runs in seven matches during IPL 2026.

The Qualifier 1 clash is expected to be another high-scoring game because of the batting-friendly conditions at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium. The venue has already produced five totals above 199 runs in three matches this season.

Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru won one game each during their earlier league-stage meetings. The winner of Qualifier 1 will directly advance to the IPL 2026 final. The title clash is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 31, at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
