MI provides an injury update on Rohit Sharma

Ahead of the big clash, MI’s spokesperson shared an update on Rohit Sharma and his injury status. Rohit was seen strapping his injured leg and hitting the nets a few days back. Today, he was seen playing with his children ahead of Mumbai’s practice.

MI spokesperson said, “Rohit Sharma is still being assessed. A decision on him playing or not would be taken at 7 pm tomorrow at the toss.” Rohit Sharma had a brilliant start to the IPL campaign, scoring a fifty in his first game against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Always love to bat No. 3-Tilak Varma

Tilak Varma was present during the pre-match press conference and said, “Rohit bhai told me: ‘tu 15 balls khel le, uske baad humein pata hai tu kya Kar sakta hai (play 15 balls, we know what u can do after that!).” Tilak Varma scored a century in the last game, which came after he scored 43 runs in 5 matches.

On being asked about the favourite batting position, Tilak said, “I always love to bat No. 3. But I’m ready to bat in any position for the team.” The form picking up for Tilak will be a good sign for the five-time winners, as they have to win every match in order to qualify for the playoffs.

Mumbai Indians have finally found their rhythm

Mumbai Indians are currently placed 6th in the points table after their massive 99-run win against the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the last game have made them have a good jump to their net run rate which has gone to positive. MI have had their problems in the middle order with Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya yet to find runs.

Mumbai will be looking to keep their winning momentum going against their arch-rivals, CSK, and win the game. If MI loses their qualification for the next round will become very difficult and Pandya will be in huge pressure as if MI fails this will be the second time in three years they failed to qualify under him.
