Pakistan’s Gen Z should take note of Islamabad’s support for terrorism against India: MEA

India on Tuesday (July 28, 2026) reiterated that Pakistan continues to promote cross-border terrorism as a state policy, with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) saying Pakistan’s Gen Z should “take note” that people of India, including the Indian Gen Z, are aware of Islamabad’s support for terrorism against India.

“As we are all aware, Pakistan has been sponsoring cross-border terrorism against India for decades. The people of India, including Gen Z, have been demanding that the Pakistani state-sponsored cross-border terrorism must come to an end. We hope their counterparts are taking due note,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, regarding the online support extended by the Pakistani social media handlers to the Cockroach Janta Party’s recent protest at Jantar Mantar. Mr. Jaiswal was speaking at the bi-weekly media briefing.

The protest at Jantar Mantar attracted solidarity and commentary from a section of Pakistani social media users. However, officials here pointed out that online bonhomie is unlikely to influence the currently frozen state of India-Pakistan relations.

They argued that India has put the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance after the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack and said that bilateral ties remain frozen because of Pakistan’s support for cross-border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.

Referring to Pakistan’s attempts to project itself as the inheritor of the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation, Mr. Jaiswal said that as a supporter of terrorism, Pakistan cannot lay any claim to a “pluralistic cultural legacy” like the Indus Valley Civilisation.

“Their abysmal track record on the protection of minorities and their cultural rights makes such desperate attempts look even more phoney,” said Mr. Jaiswal while responding to a question.
