Ravindra Jadeja’s grand homecoming to the Rajasthan Royals (RR) turned into one of the most dramatic yet emotional scenes of IPL 2026, as the star all-rounder delivered a match-winning spell against his old team, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), on March 30 in Guwahati.
After 17 seasons, Ravindra Jadeja walked out in pink for the very first time, and he didn’t just make a comeback but arrived like a storm. On a slow and tricky Guwahati pitch, the left-arm spinner ripped through CSK’s middle order and scalped two important wickets.

He finished with a stunning spell of 2 wickets for just 18 runs in 3 overs and helped RR to restrict CSK to 127 runs. Later, the Royals chased down the target inside 13 overs with eight wickets in hand. It was their biggest victory in terms of balls left.

Meanwhile, Jadeja said he feels really good in his new pink jersey and noted that he already knew how the CSK batter likes to attack spinners, and that experience helped him plan better and smarter.
Ravindra Jadeja during the mid-innings discussion with the broadcasters: “I think pink looks good on me, I guess. I’ve known Shivam Dube for a long time—I’ve bowled to him in the nets, so I understand how he approaches spinners. I was prepared for that and tried to bowl outside off, because I knew he would look to play big shots against me.”

Speaking about the pitch, Jadeja felt it was slightly sticky and offering some turn right from the start, but he enjoyed the conditions. He said, “I felt the wicket was a bit sticky and the ball was turning, so I really enjoyed bowling—my job was just to hit the right areas and let the pitch do the rest.”

Notably, it was RR’s biggest win in IPL history, having finished the chase with 47 balls still left. For CSK, it was their second-worst defeat, after 59 balls against KKR at Chepauk last year in terms of balls left in the IPL.
