During the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) vs Punjab Kings (PBKS) match no.12 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan was present in the stadium watching his franchise’s game from the stands. KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and elected to bat first; they made two forced changes.
Shah Rukh Khan came to the stadium for the first time, and he was seen having an intense chat with KKR CEO Venky Mysore. The exact conversation on the chat between the two was not clear; however, watching the gestures of the KKR co-owner, it seemed like Shah Rukh Khan was not very happy with the team’s performance in IPL 2026.
KKR are in trouble against PBKS
KKR have lost their first two games of the IPL 2026, and now, in the game against PBKS, they are in trouble with the score of 25/2. As Finn Allen was dismissed on the score of 6 runs, and in the same over, Cameron Green was also back after scoring four runs as Xavier Bartlett was all over the KKR batters in his first over.

Though the conversation between Shah Rukh Khan and Venky Mysore was not clear, during the English commentary panel, including Kevin Pietersen, Anil Kumble, and Ravichandran Ashwin, they called Ajinkya Rahane’s decision to bat first under overcast skies, which drew criticism from pundits.
Shah Rukh Khan’s animated chat goes viral
While the camera moved towards Shah Rukh Khan, the pundits also believed that the KKR owner and CEO were having the same discussion. “Looks like they are having a similar conversation. The Badshah of Bollywood, the owner of KKR. An intense chat with KKR CEO Venky Mysore,” said the anchor of Jio Hoster during the break show.
Shah Rukh Khan attended the KKR-Punjab Kings match with his manager, Pooja Dadlani, and daughter, Suhana Khan. During the rain break, the cameras were constantly focused on SRK, who kept speaking with Venky Mysore and Suhana. SRK’s daughter Suhana has been present during the auction with his brother Aryan Khan.
Ajinkya Rahane is not the captain KKR needs
KKR have really struggled in the IPL 2026, as they lost the first two matches against the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Losing matches have not been a problem; it is the intent that the Knights have failed to show with their batting or even with their bowling as well. The Knights have struggled with their bowling department.
Harshit Rana and Akash Deep are being ruled out, and Matheesha Pathirana has not yet joined the three-time champions. Bowling looks bleak for KKR, and they need to find a way to get the first two points of the IPL 2026. Ajinkya Rahane, the captain, will be under huge pressure as he has not led the side well.
KKR made two changes in the PBKS game with their star duo Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine missing out due to injury and illness, respectively. The cricket pundits were shocked after Rahane won the toss and elected to bat first on a rain-forecast game, and they went in with the side with no frontline spinners, as Rahane mentioned the pitch looked on the drier side.
