Sunil Narine bamboozles Salil Arora to pick 200th IPL wicket in SRH vs KKR clash

The Sunrisers Hyderabad batters once again started the game, dominating it in their own fashion despite the early dismissal of Abhishek Sharma, the orange cap holder in this edition of the IPL. However, Travis Head has regained his touch and blasted his way to his second explosive half-century of the season.

However, after Travis Head’s massive dismissal against the KKR ace spinner Varun Chakravarthy, the momentum of their innings slowly shifted towards the bowling side. With six wickets falling in no time, the spinners Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy picked five of them, also restricting the flow of runs.

Sunil Narine bamboozles Salil Arora, picks his 200th scalp in the IPL

Sunil Narine left the SRH batter, Salil Arora, baffled as he hit the top of his off-stump to pick his 200th wicket in the history of the IPL. KKR have bounced back after a dominant start from the SRH batter in the first 10 overs.

Narine came in to bowl his final over of the match after having started his spell in the powerplay. He was just one wicket away from the massive milestone in the IPL, and he picked the wicket with the first ball of his final over.

Salil Arora looked absolutely clueless against the jaffa from Sunil Narine, which moved slightly and went on to hit the top of the off-stump. They picked six wickets with less than 60 runs on the board in the eight overs through that middle phase.

Sunil Narine lures Ishan Kishan into a double strike in his final over

After having surpassed the milestone of 200 wickets, Narine became the first player in the history of the IPL to have picked all those wickets for a single franchise, the Kolkata Knight Riders.

The likes of Yuzvendra Chahal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the other bowlers with 200+ wickets in the IPL, have played for several franchises throughout their careers. Narine did not step back from adding to his tally as he gave his team massive relief on the final ball of his spell.

He lured Ishan Kishan, who looked pre-determined to advance down the track, and bowled slightly shorter, keeping it out of the hitting label of the bat. Kishan knocked it to the day’s sky, and Anukul Roy completed a simple catch. Narine became the first-ever overseas spinner to go past 200 wickets in the IPL.

Anukul Roy completes a spectacular grab to dismiss SRH skipper Pat Cummins

The KKR spinners did more than a remarkable job in those middle overs against one of the toughest batting units in the IPL. The Sunrisers have dominated those overs, with Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan being the starlets.

However, Rovman Powell dismissed Klaasen with one of the most extraordinary catches in the deep, and the spinners dominated nine overs between them, with Chakravarthy picking three wickets after an expensive first over and Sunil Narine picking two in his final over.

However, Anukul Roy bowled just one over, which was the 17th over of the game, and after being smashed for a six over the straight boundary, he bounced back with that wicket of Pat Cummins, the SRH skipper who has the sheer ability to score vital runs towards the back end. He plucked one stunning catch, which seemed to dip on him from his own bowling.
