Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will lay the foundation stone for Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) flagship data centre in Bharat Future City, in periphery of Hyderabad, on Wednesday (July 15, 2026), marking the beginning of one of the largest technology investments in the State and reinforcing the city’s emergence as a major digital infrastructure hub.

The project forms part of Amazon’s proposed ₹60,000-crore investment in Telangana over the next decade, one of the largest technology investments secured by the State.

The investment commitment was first secured by the Chief Minister during discussions with Amazon executives on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum at Davos in January 2025. It led to signing of a framework agreement during the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 in December last year.

The State government has allotted 202 acres in Bharat Future City and 98 acres in Chandanvelly for the project, and the Bharat Future City facility would be among the country’s largest hyper-scale data centres.

The government has also extended incentives and concessions worth ₹125 crore to the company. The project is expected to contribute significantly to the economic development of the peri-urban region under the government’s Planned Urban Expansion (PURE) initiative.

According to officials, the first phase of construction is scheduled to be completed within 24 months, while the remaining phases will be executed over the next 10 years, taking the total investment to ₹60,000 crore.
