The iPhone Fold is six months away from launch, and according to a new leak, its crease-free display will soon reach a major milestone: entering mass production.

This week brought some new details about Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone.

Bloomberg reported in iOS 27 software changes that will enable iPad-like app features on the foldable device and reports yesterday hardware highlights like RAM and storage, along with expected pricing.

Now today, the Instant Digital detector has posted a new update. It covers the single most important component of the iPhone Fold: the expected ‘wrinkle-free’ display.

He says the iPhone Fold display panels, which will be supplied by Samsung, are scheduled to begin mass production in May.

This follows an earlier post from Instant Digital last month saying that mass production for the full iPhone Fold is planned for July.

In January at CES, Samsung showed a prototype latest generation foldable screen technology. It offered a great look at what to expect from the iPhone Fold — especially compared side-by-side with previous foldable displays.

The first foldable Samsung was launched seven years ago. In the past years, there have been many rumors about Apple investigating foldable display technology. According to reports, however, it has held off on releasing a foldable iPhone until a wrinkle-free design is achieved.

All signs point to this finally being the year it happens.
