At the second meeting of the post-poll allies of the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), scheduled to be held at the party headquarters in Panaiyur on the outskirts of Chennai on September 9, 2026, the TVK is expected to formalise the alliance headed by it in the State.

TVK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay will hold discussions with leaders of the Congress, IUML, VCK, and MDMK on formalising the existing alliance in the State. The TVK has already reached out to the Left parties and MDMK general secretary Vaiko, extending formal invitations to participate in the meeting.

On Saturday (September 5, 2026), senior TVK leaders, including Ministers N. Anand and Aadhav Arjuna, met Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president B. Manickam Tagore and Rajya Sabha MP Praveen Chakravarty at Satyamurthy Bhavan, the headquarters of the TNCC, to extend a formal invitation.

Later, they met VCK president Thol. Thirumavalavan at the party headquarters in Ashok Nagar. Mr. Arjuna said the party leaders would meet IUML national president K.M. Khader Mohideen on September 8 and invite him to the second meeting.
