Two persons died in separate accidents in the district on Monday (May 11, 2026).
Dinesan, 58, of Udayamperoor, was fatally knocked down by a truck at Choorakkadu Junction near Thripunithura at 6 a.m. Though he was rushed to Thripunithura taluk hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. He was returning after dropping his son at the railway station.
In another accident along the airport road in Angamaly, a woman scooter rider was killed after being knocked down by a car. The deceased was identified as Ishana Ismath, 22, of Kasargod. She was declared brought dead at a nearby hospital.
