Two killed in separate road accidents in Bengaluru

Two persons, including a youth from Delhi, were killed in separate road accidents in Bengaluru on Sunday. Both accidents involved two-wheelers, and none of the victims was wearing a helmet.

In the first incident, Namay Sharma, a private firm employee from Delhi, died after his motorcycle allegedly rammed the retaining wall of the Silk Board double-decker flyover in the Madiwala Traffic Police Station limits around 6.30 a.m.

Sharma was residing in Iblur.

According to the police, Sharma was riding on the flyover when he allegedly lost control of his motorcycle while negotiating a curve and crashed into the retaining wall. As he was not wearing a helmet, he sustained severe head injuries.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. A case has been registered at the Madiwala Traffic Police Station.

In the second incident, a 30-year-old cook was killed and his pillion rider seriously injured after their scooter crashed into a roadside tree near the Marathahalli-Sarjapur Outer Ring Road (ORR) in the HAL Airport Traffic Police Station limits on Sunday.

The deceased, Ganga Yadav, 30, was a resident of Koramangala. The injured pillion rider, Ram Shankar Yadav, is also a cook.

According to the police, the duo were on their way to work when Yadav allegedly lost control of the scooter while entering the main road from the service road near CKB Layout on the ORR. The scooter reportedly hit the pavement before crashing into a tree, throwing both men off the vehicle.

Neither was wearing a helmet, and both sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared Ganga brought dead. Shankar was undergoing treatment.

A case has been registered at the HAL Airport Traffic Police Station.
