It was a sting operation that grabbed the headlines. During the sting operation, Rachit Bhatia referred to a young cricketer who might have been associated with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Cricket fans across social media platforms, however, linked the allegations to Vansh Bedi.
Amid the growing tension around Vansh Bedi, the young keeper-batter, who was associated with CSK, broke his silence through an Instagram post on the evening of September 22.

In this explanation, the emerging cricketer stated that he is not the cricketer who was involved in the match-fixing allegations. Legal action will be taken against anyone who linked him with the match-fixing allegations without having any strong grounds, as Bedi mentioned in his post.
“I would like to clarify certain false and defamatory content circulating on social media and websites concerning me. I categorically state that I am not the individual referred to by Ex-Ranji Trophy cricketer Rachit Bhatia in the Tehelka sting operation concerning alleged match-fixing involving a CSK player, nor do I have any involvement whatsoever in any such activity,” Vansh Bedi said in his Instagram post.
“Any attempt to falsely link me with these allegations is highly defamatory. My legal team is taking appropriate civil and criminal action against those responsible. I request everyone to refrain from creating or sharing such false and defamatory content,” he further wrote in the post.
