Virat Kohli celebrates first runs after two consecutive ducks in the IPL

Virat Kohli, the Indian legend, has not often scored a duck even when he has been going through the weakest of patches in his career. However, he got two ducks this season of the IPL after having made a promising start to the season.

Runs did not part ways with Kohli, especially in chases even in this season, until he was dismissed for a duck by LSG’s in-form paceman Prince Yadav. That duck was followed by another duck in the very next game against the Mumbai Indians.

Coming into a crucial game against KKR, Kohli scored his first runs off the final ball of a silent first over from Saurabh Dubey, the debutant who bowled with the new ball for the Knights. Kohli’s celebration once again melted hearts as the legend celebrated a single run.

Virat Kohli repeats Australia-like celebration after breaking duck jinx in IPL

This is not the first time that Virat Kohli has been spotted celebrating a single run in such an expressive manner. Going back to 2025, when Virat Kohli returned to international cricket following his retirement in Test cricket, he scored two ducks in the first two ODIs against Australia.

Emotions ran high as it marked Kohli’s final appearance on Australian soil, with no more series likely to be played before the 2027 World Cup, the tournament that is most likely to mark an end to Kohli’s glorious international career.

However, Kohli made a massive turnaround in the final match of the series, where India had a spectacular outing in Sydney. Though India lost the series by then, Kohli scored his first runs with the bat in that game, and the Indian crowd was on its feet as the legend celebrated in a similar fashion as he did today in Raipur.

Kohli off to a flyer with four boundaries off Vaibhav Arora

The RCB batter might have had two weak performances over the last two games; however, the class of Virat Kohli never disappoints. Kohli returned to Raipur and made a massive turnaround.

Having picked that single off the last ball of the final over, he hit four boundaries off the next over from Vaibhav Arora. He unsettled the pacer and continued his onslaught against the young pacer. After the end of the power play they looked in promising form with 66 runs in the powerplay.

Starting off with a flyer, Kohli’s 14-ball 30 helped RCB post a decent powerplay total, thus giving them the upper hand in the comparatively bigger chase after the Bengaluru side struggled in a smaller chase at this same venue in the last game.
