Virat Kohli on winning consecutive titles in the IPL

Virat Kohli, the legendary Indian cricketer, said that this time around the win from the last season had restored the belief within the RCB squad and had bolstered their campaign with the number of extraordinary performances from their players.

Well, I said to a few of the boys that it doesn’t feel like the same pressure as last year. We knew what kind of ability we have in the group. We topped the table. There’s a reason why we got here first.

“And we just said one thing: if we stick to our cricket, if we execute our plans, we are the best team in the comp. And there’s a reason why we have done well so far in the group stage. We ended up topping the league stage,” he said.

Virat Kohli praises their spectacular performance in the season

The RCB cricketer praised the balance in the squad, as he backed the players in their squad for having won so many matches with contributions from several different cricketers across several occasions.

“There’s guys behind you, around you, who can win games of cricket for you. We have so many Man of the Match awards cranked throughout the group as well,” he said.

Kohli hyped up RCB’s world-class pace bowling attack, which comprises the experience of Bhuvneshwar and Josh Hazlewood while also comprising the brilliance of Rasikh Salam, the youngster.

“I mean, you look at world-class bowling like Hoff, Bhuvi, Duffy. I mean, Krunal Pandya, you know, you can bank on him, as good as ever. Rasikh Dar was brilliant this season. All the batsmen chipped in as well.

“So I feel so happy to play in a group where we have balance, we have strength, and we are an all-round strong team. And yeah, that’s why we have the confidence we have on the field right now,” he added.

Virat Kohli becomes second oldest POTM in IPL final

Virat Kohli became the Player of the Match in the IPL 2026 final, and during this feat he was aged at 37 years and 207 days. He became the second-oldest player in the history of the competition to be crowned as the POTM in an IPL final.

“You have these young players pushing you hard and asking you to get better. You need to get those 20-30 runs extra. I had to change my mindset, not so much by game, to get those runs,” said Kohli after being crowned the Player of the Match in the IPL final.

Virat Kohli highlighted RCB’s IPL fanbase and said, “I always say that we don’t have just 7 home games; we have 14. GT are the home team here, but probably 90% are RCB fans.”
