Yusuf Pathan wins hearts with humble gesture during train journey from Mumbai

Former India all-rounder Yusuf Pathan recently won hearts with a humble gesture during his train journey from Mumbai to Vadodara. The former cricketer interacted warmly with a family travelling on the same train and happily posed for photographs with them. Yusuf later re-shared one of the pictures on his Instagram story, making the wholesome moment even more special for the family.

The interaction quickly gained attention on social media after the family thanked the veteran for his kindness and simplicity. They expressed gratitude for the memorable moment and praised Yusuf’s humble nature. One particular picture featuring Yusuf posing separately with the family’s baby became especially popular online, with fans appreciating the cricketer’s down-to-earth personality despite his stature in Indian cricket.

Apart from his cricketing legacy, Yusuf Pathan has also established himself in public life as an active politician representing the All India Trinamool Congress. He currently serves as a Member of Parliament from the Baharampur Lok Sabha constituency in West Bengal. Born in Baroda, Yusuf is also widely known as the elder brother of former India cricketer Irfan Pathan.

Yusuf first rose to prominence after his standout performances in the 2007 Deodhar Trophy, which earned him a place in India’s squad for the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 2007. He made his international debut in the final against Pakistan, opening the batting for India in the historic clash. His explosive performances in domestic cricket and later in the IPL soon helped him cement a place in India’s ODI setup as well.

The powerful all-rounder made his ODI debut against Pakistan in Dhaka and was also a part of India’s squad for the 2009 T20 World Cup. Across 57 ODIs, Yusuf scored 810 runs, while in 22 T20Is he amassed 236 runs. He also enjoyed an outstanding domestic career, scoring over 4000 runs in every format. In the IPL, Yusuf featured in 174 matches and scored 3204 runs, while also claiming more than 300 wickets across different formats during his career.

Following retirement, Yusuf and Irfan jointly launched the Pathans Cricket Academy to nurture young talent. The academy partnered with former India coach Greg Chappell and Cameron Tradell as chief mentors, while Huzaifa Pathan was appointed as one of the coaches.
