Hello and welcome to NDTV Profit’s live coverage of stock market news today, with the top market directions in India, Asia Pacific and the West. From pre-market signals to the most buzzing stocks in trade, we bring you all the top developments from D-Street to keep you updated throughout the day.

Nifty 50 continued its losing streak to settle 80 points lower or 0.34% at 23,865, while Sensex closed 0.33% lower. Nifty IT was the top laggard, while Defence was the top gainer.

Today also marked Nifty’s weekly expiry and the close of the June quarter, adding an extra layer of volatility to a session already trying to shake off Monday’s selloff.

U.S. stock futures traded marginally higher early Tuesday after the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at a fresh record high in the previous session. Dow futures rose 76 points, or 0.1%, while S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 futures were up less than 0.1%, indicating a muted start for Wall Street.

Asia-Pacific markets traded mixed in afternoon trade, tracking overnight gains on Wall Street. Japan’s Nikkei 225 climbed 0.86% to close at 40,062.32, while South Korea’s Kospi gained 0.97%, supported by the government’s plans for a large-scale AI investment drive and a 3.4% rise in Samsung Electronics shares.
