The Indian duo of Navneet Singh and Dinesh Kumar’s dominant run at the Commonwealth Games lawn bowls competition came to an end as they lost in tie-break to England’s Nick Brett and Jamie Walker in the men’s pairs sectional play here on Saturday (August 1, 2026).
The Indian men’s pairs duo put on a dominant display in Section B, securing four consecutive victories to position themselves on the brink of knockout stage qualification.
Meanwhile, Nayanmoni Saikia also ended her campaign with a tie-break defeat to South Africa’s Bridget Herselman in the women’s singles sectional play.
Saikia won the opening set 7-4 before Herselman fought back emphatically to take the second 18-3, forcing a tie-break that the South African won.
Already out of semifinal contention before the match, Saikia finished fourth in Group C with two wins and three defeats.
