CM’s US visit permission denial: BJP, BRS leaders speaking sans complete information, says Chamala

Congress MP and TPCC Media Committee chairman Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy lashed out at the BJP and BRS for their criticism of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s recent foreign visit, alleging that leaders of both parties were speaking without having complete information about the issue.

Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, he said the Centre had granted permission for Mr. Revanth Reddy’s visit to the United Kingdom but denied permission for his proposed visit to the United States. “This has never happened before,” he said.

Taking a dig at Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, he said the latter was speaking as though he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He questioned why semiconductor projects that were expected to come to Telangana had allegedly been shifted to Gujarat.

Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy also questioned the BJP’s stand on several major infrastructure projects in Telangana, including the Musi rejuvenation project, the Regional Ring Road and the Hyderabad Metro expansion. “Why are these development projects being obstructed?” he asked.

He alleged that BJP and BRS were working against the interests of Telangana and did not want the State to progress. He also alleged that the BRS was prepared to accept a poor electoral performance as long as it could prevent the Congress from coming to power at the Centre.

Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy appealed to Congress leaders and cadres to counter what he described as false propaganda being spread by the BJP and BRS on social media. As chairman of the TPCC Media Committee, he said he would monitor the social media handles of Congress leaders and examine their activities.
