The Khammam First Fast Track Sessions Court for expeditious disposal of rape and POCSO Act cases on Tuesday sentenced three men to life imprisonment for raping a minor girl in 2022.
The convicts were identified as P. Srivardhan, 19, and S. Nagaraju, 20, both from Chintakani mandal in Khammam district, and P. Veeranna alias Abhi, 20, of Tiruvuru mandal in Andhra Pradesh.
According to the police, the trio allegedly whisked away the minor girl from her home when she was alone and sexually assaulted her on November 18, 2022.
Based on a complaint lodged by the girl’s mother, Chintakani police registered a case under Sections 376, 324, 506 read with 34 of the IPC and Section 5 read with 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
Fast Track Court Judge Dr. Pullabhatla Pogada Krishna Arjun sentenced all three convicts to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹65,000 on A1 and ₹60,000 each on A2 and A3.
