Three Kashmir leaders, including Kashmir chief cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Shia clerics Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al Safavi and Imran Reza Ansari, on Friday (September 11, 2026) were to hold an interaction with Iranian president Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian in New Delhi.

The Mirwaiz and Mr. Ansari also attended an exhibition organised by the Iranian embassy in New Delhi “to pay homage to the children who were killed in Iran’s Minab during an attack by the U.S. and Israel”.
A spokesperson of the Mirwaiz said the Kashmir chief cleric joined the exhibition “on the invitation of Iranian ambassador to India and will participate in an interaction with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, who is in the capital to attend the BRICS Summit”.

“The interaction of religious leaders, intellectuals and other dignitaries, is being hosted by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India, Dr Mohammad Fathali, is scheduled to take place in New Delhi later today followed by a dinner reception,” said the spokesperson.
A spokesperson of Shia cleric Al Safavi said the religious leader will also “participate in an interaction with the Iranian President”.
