Leaker Fixed Focus Digital took to Weibo once again to provide some additional details on what to expect from Apple’s first foldable iPhone. Here’s what he said.
Practically no wrinkles
Last year, a report from UDN claimed that Apple had made one great discovery this would allow him to show off what would essentially be a crease-free iPhone Fold.
Now, the flow Digital Fixed Focus is offering what appears to be a concrete data point on Weibo:
“(…) The crease is controlled below 0.15 mm, with a fold angle below 2.5 degrees, so the overall quality of the product appears strong.”
In practical terms, these measurements correspond to the physical depth of the crease and the tightness of the crease radius. With these measurements, the crease could potentially be barely visible to the eye and touch, which is consistent with the previously reported finding.
For reference, a sheet of paper is about 0.1mm thick, so in theory, the crease could feel more subtle than sliding your finger across two stacked sheets of paper.
In its post, Fixed Focus Digital also says that “the production line has indeed seen production orders for Apple’s foldable display,” adding that the device is “confirmed to hit the market this year.”
This also matches previous reportsshowing that Apple’s foldable iPhone timeline and manufacturing process appear to be on track.
