Belagavi Police register case after online post against Satish Jarkiholi

Belagavi Police have registered a case after a defamatory post on social media about Minister Satish Jarkiholi wherein it is said that he led a revolt against the outgoing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah leading to his resignation.

Valmiki Nayak Samaj leader Rajshekar Talwar, who is a Satish Jarkiholi follower, has filed a complaint with the Belagavi Cyber Crime Police Station.

A Facebook post on the account, Karunada Kurubagoudru and Bandaya Dhanvi, has claimed that Satish Jarkiholi collected the signatures of 37 MLAs against Mr. Siddaramaiah.

The complaint has named unidentified men as responsible for posting the message. Mr. Talwar has said that this can lead to incitement of violence and promote divisive forces affecting peace, law and order in society.

The complaint says that a conspiracy has been hatched on the fake Facebook account to tarnish Satish Jarkiholi’s image by making baseless allegations against the KPCC working president.

Vested interests are trying to spread false news on social media against Satish Jarkiholi to create discord between Mr. Siddaramaiah’s Kuruba community and the Valmiki community. This can lead to unrest and riots, the complaint said.

Meanwhile, Satish Jarkiholi has denied the allegation. He told reporters in Bengaluru on Saturday that there is no need for anyone to take such things seriously.
