Ravi and Ashok are originally from Rajasthan, but will play for the Gujarat cricket team. Ashutosh Sharma, who made his name as a power-hitter for the Delhi Capitals, will definitely add extra firepower in Gujarat’s batting order.

“Ashutosh has joined our team this season, and we hope his presence will bolster the team’s strengths, especially in white-ball cricket,” Gujarat Cricket Association secretary Anil Patel informed the media house on October 5.

The batter has developed himself as one of the promising aggressive batters in the Indian domestic cricket circuit. Because of his prowess as a middle-order batter, he played for multiple teams in Indian domestic cricket. He first came into the limelight playing for the Madhya Pradesh cricket team before making a move to the Railways. Now, from Railways, he has joined Gujarat.

According to a Cricinfo stat, Ashutosh holds the record for the fastest T20 fifty by an Indian batter. He registered the half-century off 11 balls against Arunachal Pradesh, while playing for Railways in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

He lacked runs with the bat, but did well with the ball, taking 14 wickets in 6 matches for Hampshire, including a 5/51 bowling figure against Essex on July 31.
