With the southwest monsoon hitting the pause button, temperatures in Bengaluru have been soaring over the last couple of days. On Tuesday (July 14), Bengaluru city recorded the hottest July day ever.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) observation data, the Bengaluru city observatory recorded a maximum of 33.6°C, which is the highest ever recorded. The previous highest all-time record was 33.3°C recorded in 1914 and 1926.

The HAL observatory recorded a maximum of 34°C and the Kempegowda International Airport recorded 32.9°C respectively.

With Bengaluru city recording a maximum of 33.6°C as against a normal of 28.3°C, there was a departure of 5.3°C.

Likewise, for the HAL observatory, the normal temperature in July is 28.6°C, and on Tuesday (July 14), there was a departure of 5.4°C.

The weather forecast for the next couple of days said that there would be partly cloudy sky and sustained wind of 30-40 kmph likely in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperature are very likely to be around 34°C and 21°C respectively.
