The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finalised a title sponsorship arrangement with Muthoot Fincorp covering the next two home seasons of Indian cricket. The deal was confirmed just days before India open their home white-ball schedule against the West Indies, who visit for three ODIs and five T20Is.
It is reported that the BCCI locked in the agreement at a base price of INR 4.85 crore per match, and noted that the elevated floor price discouraged wider participation from potential bidders. The white-ball contests begin on Sunday, September 27, with the first ODI at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The second and third ODIs follow on September 30 and October 3 respectively, while the T20I leg runs from October 6 through October 17.
Shubman Gill captains the ODI side for this series, with KL Rahul named as his deputy. Shreyas Iyer has been appointed captain of the T20I team, with Tilak Varma serving as vice-captain.
Which India regulars are absent from the ODI squad and why?
Four established players — Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah — have been left out of the ODI squad as they are committed to the Asian Games. Their unavailability has created room for several players to push their claims at the international level.
Auqib Nabi and Naman Dhir are the two fresh inclusions in the 15-member group. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli return to add experience, while Ravindra Jadeja comes back into the ODI fold. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel have also earned selection. Notably, Rishabh Pant has been left out of both white-ball squads for this series.

Shreyas Iyer takes charge of the T20I side for this series, with Tilak Varma named as his deputy. The T20I group is largely distinct from the ODI party, bringing in players such as Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav and Mayank Yadav. Notably, Axar Patel also features in the T20I squad despite his absence from the ODI group. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Kuldeep Yadav are the only two players who hold places in both squads for this tour.
