Coromandel International distributed bicycles and educational materials for 103 girl students under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme on Friday.
The beneficiaries, from Ward 58 of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), are studying in Classes 8 to 10 and pursuing intermediate courses in government schools. All of them had secured first, second or third ranks in their respective classes.
District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore handed over the bicycles to the students at the Coromandel Recreation Centre.
Mr. Kishore appreciated Coromandel’s CSR initiatives aimed at supporting women, students and other sections of society. He said recognising and encouraging students’ performance would motivate them to pursue higher goals.
