The rate of rise in votes polled during the Assembly polls over the previous election (2021) marks the lowest in the last 15 years, despite Tamil Nadu registering a record turnout in terms of percentage during the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election for which the polling was held on April 23.
The figure of the rise is about 5.5%, whereas it was 6.22% in 2021; 18.5% in 2016; and 11.4% in 2011.
