Shai Hope reaches another milestone with 20th ODI century

The landmark also placed Hope in an exclusive West Indies group. He became only the second player from the Caribbean side to score 20 ODI centuries, joining former captain and legendary opener Chris Gayle.
Hope’s approach was markedly different from the aggression displayed by the batters around him. While Campbell had attacked the Indian bowling earlier in the innings, Hope provided stability and ensured that the momentum was maintained. His century served as the backbone of a record-breaking batting effort, allowing the West Indies to build an imposing total while maintaining control of the innings.
Amir Jangoo delivers 2nd ODI century
If Hope provided the experience, Amir Jangoo supplied the aggression. The left-hander produced a breakthrough performance under pressure, smashing his second ODI century with a fearless approach against the Indian bowling attack. Jangoo raced to 111 from only 73 deliveries, striking at a rate of more than 152. His innings featured 13 boundaries and three sixes, reflecting the attacking intent that defined his stay at the crease.
The batter was particularly destructive during the middle overs, taking on India’s spinners and preventing them from settling into a rhythm. His ability to find boundaries regularly ensured that the West Indies continued to score at a rapid rate even after Hope had consolidated the innings.
For Jangoo, the hundred marked an important personal milestone and provided a major contribution to an already extraordinary team performance.
West Indies create ODI history in Guwahati
The combined efforts of Campbell, Hope and Jangoo resulted in a historic achievement for the West Indies. Having three batters score centuries in the same ODI innings made the Caribbean side the first team in ODI history to accomplish the feat.
