After the staggering start to the Delhi Capitals’ innings with the bat, they would have given themselves every chance to win that match where the opposition was chasing a massive 265 runs in their 20 overs. However, for the PBKS openers, it looked something of an easy task.
At the back of a staggering start from Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya, the Punjab Kings were at the top of the Delhi Capitals’ bowling deck in the powerplay, having scored at nearly 20 runs per over. Shreyas Iyer looked to capitalize on the same and continued the onslaught in the middle overs.
Karun Nair ends DC hopes of a win over PBKS with two drops of Shreyas Iyer
Delhi Capitals substitute fielder Karun Nair was blunt to have dropped Shreyas Iyer twice in the span of just three balls. The mess was what could have never been imagined by anyone in that Delhi Capitals dugout.
Shreyas was already striking with fierce confidence, but when Vipraj kept one a little out of his reach, he struggled to clear the field at long off, and Karun Nair, running in, dropped a very simple chance as the ball pounced out of his hands.
In the very next overs, Shreyas went bang and hit the first one out of the ground. Kuldeep backed himself into the second ball, and Shreyas did not get the elevation he desired as he handed another simple chance to Karun Nair, who dropped it for the second time, now at long on.
