Excitement was at its feverish pitch in the city as the counting of votes began for the Kerala Assembly Elections.
Yet the day started rather at a gentler pace in Kochi constituency candidate Mohammed Shiyas’ chamber in the Ernakulam District Congress Committee (DCC) office. Mr. Shiyas, flanked by a posse of party workers, sat in quiet contemplation, his eyes glued to the TV screen, watching the poll updates. Occasionally, his lips would curl into a faint smile, yet he remained calm and engrossed in the fluctuation of lead points initially.
