Lucknow Super Giants recently posted a video of their young bowling sensation Prince Yadav talking to Royal Challengers Bengaluru stalwart Virat Kohli after the two teams’ match in Lucknow on May 7.
In the match, Yadav had dismissed Kohli for a two-ball duck as LSG snapped a six-match losing streak to beat RCB by 9 runs.
LSG break losing streak in Lucknow
Across IPL 2025 and 2026, Lucknow Super Giants’ losing streak at the Bharat Ratna Sir Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow had grown to 8 matches.
Against RCB on Thursday, though, that changed as LSG did not let the multiple rain interruptions be a deterrent. Mitchell Marsh made his second IPL hundred in a match that was eventually reduced to 19 overs.
Nicholas Pooran made an impact, but it was Rishabh Pant’s powerful cameo of an unbeaten 32 in just 10 balls that pushed LSG beyond the 200 mark. The maths of the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method decided that RCB were going to chase 213 in 19 overs.
Jacob Bethell was out in the first over of the chase, and Virat Kohli in the second – dismissed for a duck by Prince Yadav. Devdutt Padikkal and Rajat Patidar made a partnership, but Prince returned to elicit a collapse.

Yadav got rid of both Devdutt Padikkal and Jitesh Sharma in the eleventh over. Rajat Patidar was also out in the next over, and by then the damage was too much.
Tim David, Krunal Pandya, and Romario Shepherd could only try to get RCB as close as possible.
Virat Kohli chatted to Yadav after the match
In a video posted by Lucknow Super Giants to their socials, Virat Kohli could be seen talking to Yadav and a few other LSG players after the match. While there is no audio of the conversation, the players themselves seem to be having a pleasant time.

Virat Kohli and Prince Yadav’s form in IPL 2026
Although the fortunes of their teams have been polar opposites, both Virat Kohli and Prince Yadav have enjoyed a great deal of personal success in IPL 2026.
Despite the two-ball duck, Kohli has 379 runs in 10 matches at an average of 47 and a strike rate of 164. He has also made three fifties and is currently RCB’s highest run-getter in the tournament.
Yadav, though, has been having the time of his life. With 16 wickets in 10 matches, he is third on the Purple Cap Table. His wickets have come at an excellent average of 18.68 and a respectable economy of 8 runs an over.
RCB and LSG next match
In their next two matches, Lucknow Super Giants will face Chennai Super Kings twice. In Chennai on 10 May and in Lucknow on 15 May. LSG are out of playoffs contention, but just like with RCB, they have an opportunity to play party pooper to a CSK team enjoying a mid-season resurgence.
RCB’s next two matches will be at their adopted home ground – the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. RCB will face two teams in the bottom three of the points table in these two matches. Mumbai Indians on May 10 and Kolkata Knight Riders on May 13.
