The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match no.55, was between the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and the Delhi Capitals (DC). A young Madhav Tiwari was named the Player of the Match in his first game of the IPL. It was a reverse game as this time DC had the best of the Punjab side chasing the target of 211 runs with one over to spare.
Axar Patel won the toss and elected to field first. They made a fresh start, making five changes Sahil Parakh, Abishek Porel, David Miller, Auqib Nabi, and Madhav Tiwari, replacing Kuldeep Yadav, Pathum Nissanka, Nitish Rana, Karun Nair, and T Natarajan. PBKS also made a change, with Ben Dwarshius replacing Lockie Ferguson, who was out due to a niggle.

After being asked to bat first, Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya got off to a roaring start, with the former being the attacker, scoring the majority of the runs during the power play and reaching 50 in just 24 balls. PBKS scored 72/0 during the power play. Prabhsimran could not make an impact and returned after scoring 18 runs.
Then, debutant Madhav Tiwari bowled brilliantly in the middle overs, picking two wickets on his debut game, dismissing the big wicket of Priyansh Arya, which was his first wicket, and also dismissing Cooper Connolly on the score of 38 runs. Axar Patel plays a captain’s knock
The Capitals had the worst possible start, losing the top three in the form of Abishek Porel, KL Rahul, and Sahil Parakh inside the power play with the score being 33/3. DC skipper Axar Patel came up top and formed a tiny partnership with Tristan Stubbs, who scored only 12 runs.
Axar and David Miller then stitched a 61-run partnership before the former was back in the dugout after a well-made half-century off 28 balls. Axar Patel was dismissed on 56 runs off 30 balls. The latter scored 51 off 28 before being dismissed by Ben Dwarshius.

“I have worked on my bowling a lot, I have worked on my ranging hitting. I would like to say 100 percent bowler, 100 percent batter. The wicket was helping the length ball. I was trying to mix it with wide ball and short ball.”
Madhav finally said, “I was prepared, given the conditions it was supporting the fast bowlers, lucky enough to bowl four overs for the team. Our batting coach Belly said you got the power, you have the technique, don’t try to overhit the ball.”
