Two days after claiming that he had informed Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar about who had complained against him to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi said that he had no clear information about the alleged complainants.
“There is no concrete information regarding who lodged the complaint that led to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) searches at my house. We are trying to gather some information about it and may get it after some time. But, as of now, there is no clarity. I cannot make allegations against anyone without proper documentation,” he told reporters in Belagavi on Wednesday.
“I will be able to speak on issues related to the ED searches only after examining the necessary documents and information,” he said.
When asked if there was a deliberate attempt by the BJP to suppress leaders from the ST community, Mr. Jarkiholi said that such an impression had formed in the minds of people after some recent incidents. “It is clear from the recent actions of Central agencies that their main targets are leaders from the Opposition and not the BJP,” he said.
