Andy Flower points fingers at Romario Shepherd in the dressing room after RCB’s loss to DC

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar made a bold call when he handed the ball to the pace bowling all-rounder Romario Shepherd for the penultimate over against the Delhi Capitals (DC). It was the Caribbean’s first over of the match, and a well-set Tristan Stubbs and David Miller were on the deck at that moment for DC.

Back-to-back sixes from David Miller, followed by a 4, seal the victory for the Delhi Capitals eventually. At the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, DC claimed a 6-wicket win over the defending champions.

Romario Shepherd looked disheartened in the dressing room

As the winning runs came from Shephard’s over, naturally, he was devastated after the match. In the dressing room, he was visibly disheartened. To cheer up the entire troop and especially Romario Shepherd, RCB head coach Andy Flower strongly said that they are fully behind him.

Batting first, RCB posted 175 runs for 8 wickets. The total was competitive, but a little bit low as they were playing on their home ground. The franchise shares a video on Sunday, depicting the dressing scenario and the views of the coaches after the disappointing result.

Dinesh Karthik praised the bowlers

Dinesh Karthik, the mentor and the batting coach of the team, mentioned that the pitch was not easy to bat on. He praised the batters for their efforts in their innings. Karthik also believes that they could have done a lot better on the surface against the Delhi Capitals bowlers.

“It was a tough pitch to bat and we played quite well for about 75% of the innings but yes in the last 5 overs we probably didn’t get as many runs as we wanted but we bowled so well, we fielded out for skin, we did everything possible, showed the kind of commitment that players have towards the team but towards the end they got two great batters who came in and absolutely smashed it and that happens in a T20 game,” Dinesh Karthik said.

The mentor and the batting coach of RCB praised the bowlers, especially Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He mentioned Rashikh Salam and Romario Shepherd as well.

“This Bhuvi (Bhuvneshwar Kumar) and Hoffs over was so good and Rasik’s as well, the 19th over was on point, and obviously we tried to take it as deep as possible, and then Sheppey (Romario Shepherd) had a couple of good balls and then a couple of lovely shots from David Miller as well. So overall, happy with the bowling effort, could we have done both a little better?” he added.

RCB head coach backs Romario Shepherd

Andy Flower also showed his support for the West Indies all-rounder.

“Sheppey, we are 100% behind you. Those are two world-class finishers, and we’ve got to give them credit as well,” the head coach said.

RCB will play their next match in the IPL 2026 campaign on April 24 against the Gujarat Titans at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Immigration agent gets 3 years of rigorous imprisonment in Rs 19-L visa fraud case

2 min readApr 20, 2026 08:02 AM IST

A local court in Mohali has convicted an immigration agent in a visa fraud case and sentenced her to three years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1.02 lakh to be paid as compensation to the complainant.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Anish Goyal held Chhavi Sharma, a resident of Chandigarh’s Sector 48, guilty under Section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 24 of the Immigration Act.

According to the order, “The convict has been awarded three years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1 lakh under IPC Section 420, along with one year of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2,000 under the Immigration Act.”

According to the prosecution, a case was registered at the Mataur police station on January 18, 2024, in connection with an alleged fraud of Rs 19 lakh.

In November 2022, the complainant approached Star Future Education and Immigration Services in Mohali’s Sector 70 to secure an Australian study visa for his daughter. The accused promised to arrange the visa within 90 days and collected nearly Rs 19 lakh in instalments.

However, the visa process was neither completed within the stipulated time nor was the money refunded. After waiting for over a year, the complainant found the university’s offer letter provided by the accused to be fake, prompting him to approach the police.

During the trial, the court observed that financial transactions and elements of cheating were clearly established through bank records and witness testimonies.

“The evidence on record sufficiently proves the offence of cheating and unauthorised immigration activity,” the court noted.

However, the court also remarked that the complainant failed to independently verify the authenticity of the offer letter from the concerned university.

After evaluating the evidence and hearing both sides, the court acquitted the accused of charges related to forgery and criminal conspiracy, but held her guilty of cheating and operating without proper authorisation under the Immigration Act.”

What’s behind the US army’s decision to raise enlistment age to 42? | Military News

The United States army announced last month that it would raise the maximum age at which Americans can enlist from 35 to 42 years to expand its pool of eligible candidates amid recruiting challenges in recent years.

An updated version of US Army Regulation 601–210, dated March 20, outlined the changes, including the elimination of rules requiring anyone with a single conviction for marijuana possession or drug paraphernalia to obtain a waiver to enlist.

Government data shows that while the US army has met its recruitment goals over the last two years, it fell short in 2022 and 2023 and has consistently failed to meet targets for the Army Reserve, shortcomings that analysts have attributed to several possible factors.

The new age limit was announced during the US-Israel war on Iran, towards which young people have expressed widespread opposition.

Here’s what you need to know about the changes.

When does the regulation go into effect?

The updated version of Army Regulation 601–210 officially takes effect on Monday, April 20.

What has the military said about the changes?

The US army announced updated enlistment regulations on March 20, with the changes scheduled to take effect one month later on April 20 and applying to the Regular Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard.

The maximum enlistment age is raised from 35 to 42, and previous restrictions requiring anyone with a single conviction for possession of marijuana or drug paraphernalia to obtain a waiver to enlist are done away with.

Do these changes apply to the whole US military?

The changes announced in March are specific to the US army.

The military news outlet Stars and Stripes reported that those changes bring the army into greater alignment with the maximum enlistment age of other branches of the military, such as the Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, and Space Force, which accept enlistees in their early 40s.

The maximum enlistment age for the US Marines is 28.

What factors explain the change?

While the US army did not comment on the reasons for the increase, data from the US Army Recruiting Command show that the army has struggled with recruitment challenges.

While the army met 100 percent of its recruitment goals in 2025 and 2024, it missed its target by about 23 percent in 2023 and 25 percent in 2022.

That data also shows that the army has fallen short of recruitment targets for the Army Reserve for the last six years in a row.

The average age of army recruits has risen in recent years to 22.7, up from 21.7 in the 2000s and 21.1 in the 2010s, according to the military news outlet Army Times, citing data from a US army spokesperson.

The US Army Recruiting Command has attributed such challenges to issues such as changes in the labour market, limited awareness about military service, and a lack of qualified young people due to issues such as obesity, drug use, and mental health issues.

A 2018 poll listed concerns over possible injury and death, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), separation from family and friends, and other career interests as top reasons offered by young people for not joining the military.

Does the change have to do with the war in Iran?

Analysts have been discussing the possibility of raising the enlistment age for years as a means of addressing recruiting challenges, with a 2023 research report from the RAND Corporation, a US think tank, calling “older youth” a “crucial, largely untapped, yet high-quality pool of potential recruits”.

While the military has not suggested that the change is linked to the US-Israel war on Iran, where US President Donald Trump has previously said he could deploy ground troops, some social media users were quick to note the timing of the announcement.

Some in the online community joked that older supporters of the war would now be available to enlist.

“They raised the enlistment age to 42,” one X user said in response to a video of the conservative commentator Ben Shapiro praising Trump’s decision to attack Iran. “Why are you still here?”

Surveys have found that younger people are more likely to oppose the US war on Iran than those aged 65 and up, and polls in recent years have found that young people are more generally sceptical of US intervention abroad than older generations.

A 2024 Pew Research Center poll found that people between the ages of 18 and 29 were the only age bracket in the US who viewed the military more negatively than positively, with 53 percent saying the military had a negative effect versus 43 percent who said it had a positive effect.

How many people are currently in the US military?

According to the Pew Research Center, the US military has about 1.32 million active members. The US army accounts for the largest share, with nearly 450,000, while the US Navy is second with more than 334,000.

The Air Force has more than 317,000, the Marines more than 168,000, the Coast Guard nearly 42,000, and the Space Force nearly 9,700.

Data from the US Army Recruiting Command shows that about 80 percent of recruits in the Regular Army were men in 2025.

Black and Latino recruits also make up a larger share of army recruits than their percentage of the population, each making up about 27 percent of recruits while comprising 14 percent and 20 percent of the general population, according to data from the 2024 census.

White people made up about 40 percent of US army recruits, while about 57 percent of the general population.

Jofra Archer dismisses Tim Seifert with a peach first ball in KKR vs RR clash

Jofra Archer dismisses Tim Seifert with a peach first ball in KKR vs RR clash

Jofra Archer continues his saga of picking wickets in the very first over of the game, as he dismisses KKR opener Tim Seifert on the very first ball of his spell in the KKR vs RR clash at the Eden Gardens.

Kolkata Knight Riders return to their home ground at the Eden Gardens in the IPL, still looking for their first win of the season. They take on the Rajasthan Royals, the team that has looked promising until now, excelling with both bat and ball.

Jofra Archer dismissed Tim Seifert with an absolute jaffa

Jofra Archer, the RR pacer from England, has been in some form in this edition of the IPL. He has delivered every time he has taken the new ball for the Riyan Parag-led side, often dismissing the likes of aggressive openers like Phil Salt and Abhishek Sharma.

This time, while defending a comparatively low score against the Knight Riders, the Royals needed to deliver early with the ball, and Archer stepped up on the very first ball. He beamed one into the stumps, and Seifert was not committed enough to even defend the ball, as the ball crashed onto the stumps.

A first-over strike for Jofra Archer, and the Seifert switch from Finn Allen has not worked for the Kolkata Knight Riders over the last two games. Archer was elated alongside the skipper, Riyan Parag.

Burger rips out KKR skipper in the second over

Nandre Burger, the Rajasthan Royals fast bowler, has delivered more than what was actually expected from him. The left-arm pacer has been moving the new ball, and that has helped the Royals pick early wickets.

Burger dismissed KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane with the second ball of his spell as Rahane tried to play a wider ball on the off and nicked it back to the wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel, who completed a safe catch.

This was the 12th duck for the KKR skipper, who now has the most ducks for an opener in the IPL. Kolkata Knight Riders have also had the lowest average between their openers, considering any team, as they average 20.57 in the 7 innings.

Dhurv Jurel-Ravi Bishnoi join hands to dismiss Cameron Green in a memorable fashion

After the fall of the two early wickets, Cameron Green, the batter who looked in some good form against the Gujarat Titans, slowly tried to give it back to the RR bowlers. He handled the pacers with ease as he smashed runs off Burger.

Ravi Bishnoi was immediately brought into the attack, and he used his wit as he slid one down the leg side. Bishnoi’s wit was matched with Jurel, who also dived to his left and then threw it at the stumps, hitting the wickets in a rare moment that happens once out of a hundred times. Green was dismissed for a well-struck 27.

Aakash Chopra reacts as Blessing Muzarabani’s agent exposes PCB

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has bluntly slammed the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over the handling of the Blessing Muzarabani episode.

The whole Blessing Muzarabani controversy has now become a big talking point in the world of cricket, and things are getting messy with each passing day. It was just the Zimbabwe fast bowler’s simple call to pick the IPL 2026 over PSL 2026, but it has now turned into a major controversy.

Blessing Muzarabani’s agent revealed shocking details

Blessing Muzarabani has been banned for two years by the PCB after he left the PSL 2026 and joined Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the ongoing IPL 2026, saying that the bowler did not respect his commitment to the PSL.

But the story took a shocking turn when Muzarabani’s agent revealed the details. The Zimbabwe bowler’s agent has clearly said that there was no proper contract signed between Muzarabani and Islamabad United.

It was only a basic talk and agreement in words, nothing official on paper. Even when KKR approached them, the PSL team still didn’t send the agreement.

Aakash Chopra hits out at PCB over Blessing Muzarabani controversy

And because of that, the bowler signed the contract with the KKR for the IPL 2026. Reacting to the episode, Aakash Chopra said that it was certain that the PCB was not going to tolerate Muzarabani leaving the PSL for the IPL, but they forgot their “technical flaw” in the whole drama.

Chopra said in a video he posted on his X handle on Sunday, “PSL has banned Blessing Muzarbani for two years. You know why? Because he left the PSL contract and signed the IPL. And such a breach of agreement and contract will not be tolerated. Especially when IPL is involved. Because, of course, you know if you know. But no agreement was signed. There was only a verbal agreement for something. Yes, you called me; I can come. They have agreed on some terms.”

Aakash Chopra explains why NOC needs proper contract

The cricket pandit further explained that a player needs a proper signed contract to get a no-objection certificate (NOC) from their home board. Without the NOC, players cannot officially confirm participation in any league, for which they need agreement on paper.

Since no contract was given to Blessing Muzarabani by the Islamabad United team, he could not even apply for the NOC at that stage. During this time, KKR approached the Zimbabwe star with a proper offer and clear paperwork. So, he accepted it and moved to the IPL.

Aakash Chopra calls PSL punishment harsh on Muzarabani

Chopra feels that this situation has been handled poorly and questioned the PSL and PCB on how a player can be blamed for breaking a contract that was never actually signed. He also called the punishment given to the bowler very harsh.

The cricket pandit further explained, “They say, Khisyani Billi Khamma Noche. This is absolutely right. That saying is sitting in the right place. Why? Because you did not sign the contract. Because you did not send the agreement. How will the thing that was not sent be signed? And it is really harsh. On two counts. First, ban for two years. This is generally a really harsh thing. In which your administrative clerical error is that you do not send a contract.”

He did not cheat: Chopra defends Muzarabani

Muzarabani has been facing heavy criticism, with many accusing him of betraying the PSL, and the commentator slammed those for blaming him without knowing all the facts.

Chopra signed off by saying, “And second, the amount of hate the poor guy is getting on social media. Hate is also useless these days. So much hate is getting the poor guy that he has cheated the Pakistan Super League. He did not cheat. This is not an agreement. That’s the reality.”

Europe's age identification app that EU chief told world 'will keep our children safe' hacked in 'under 2 minutes'; researcher tells what’s very wrong with the app

The European Union’s (EU) new Age Verification app has reportedly been hacked with little to no effort. The all-new app was launched by the European Union chief Ursula von der Leyen recently. “This app will allow users to prove their age when accessing online platforms. Just like shops ask for proof of age for people buying alcoholic beverages,” von der Leyen told journalists in Brussels. In simple words, the app is part of an initiative by the European Commission to standardise age checks across online services. The app reportedly uses the same model adopted during the Covid pandemic, when Brussels developed a tool allowing people to prove they had been vaccinated as countries reopened after lockdowns, she said.As per EU officials, once it becomes available, users would be able to download it from an online store, set it up with their passport or ID card and then use it to prove they are a certain age. The 27-country EU has some of the world’s strictest rules regulating the digital space, with multiple probes ongoing into the impact on children of platforms including Instagram and TikTok. “It is our duty to protect our children in the online world, just as we do in the offline world, and to do that effectively, we need a harmonised European approach,” she said.

Paul Moore tells what is fundamentally wrong with EU’s app

Just days after its official unveiling, security researcher Paul Moore has claimed to have hacked into it in under two minutes. Pointing to glaring security holes he said that passport photos were stored unencrypted and he was able to bypass PIN protection with a text editor. In a long post, Moore wrote what is fundamentally wrong with the EU’s age verification app. Let’s shift focus and explain why the #EU #AgeVerification concept is fundamentally flawed.Assume:1. The production app is released.2. It’s 100% secure, 100% private (fantasy land, but stick with me)3. It cryptographically challenges every step, including hardware attestation which requires a physical device.4. Every single other attack vector in the surrounding environment is somehow magically patched.aka – it’s working exactly as intended/designed.It does not protect against a relay attack. This is a threat they considered and somewhat addressed here: https://github.com/eu-digital-identity-wallet/eudi-doc-architecture-and-reference-framework/blob/main/docs/architecture-and-reference-framework-main.mdWith the current design, there’s nothing preventing someone running a verification-as-a-service; a remote Android device which returns a valid attestation. Remember, it’s not returning “I am over 18”, it returns “someone is over 18”. Neither the verifier, nor the app has any way to link the session ID to a physical device.Their own docs state this clearly:Remote Cross-Device Presentation:“Note that the Wallet Instance does not see any difference between the cross-device flow and the same-device flow. In both cases, it receives an OpenID4VP-compliant presentation request over the Wallet Instance-platform API described in the previous section.”This is a known & well-understood attack vector in all remote credential presentation models; it’s just not mitigated in this one… primarily because they can’t. CTAP 2.2 won’t work with all app flows, hardware attestation doesn’t mitigate relay attacks, on-demand liveness detection would be too intrusive & potentially privacy-invasive & timing calculations don’t reveal anything useful… all the available options to resolve this break the core design; completely anonymous age verification. The Architecture & Reference Framework (ARF) is technically sound in some respects. They considered external threat actors and discussed solutions to mitigate them, including ZKP. However, the EC applied the wrong threat model, thus arriving at the wrong conclusion.Yes, you need to protect against malicious verifiers, phishing sites, session hijacks, data brokers et al… but that’s addressing external threats, it doesn’t protect the architecture from the user itself. In virtually every other scenario, the user and system’s interests are aligned; protect my biometric asset at all costs.Specifically for age verification, most users do not want to present ID simply to access a website, so whilst the system may adequately protect from external threats, if the user wants to bypass the system, they can… and the architecture doesn’t consider this.Every single applied mitigation assumes the user is the protected party, not the threat actor. To those people claiming “it requires physical access to the device and root, this is BS/hyperbole”, you too applied the wrong threat model & completely missed the point. These disclosures demonstrate that you, the user, are the threat actor they haven’t considered. You have your device. You can root your device. You can create a chrome extension, just as I did.Ironically, it’s precisely those under 18 who can’t pass verification who are motivated to bypass it.So where does that leave us?A system which replaces “I am over 18” with “someone is over 18”, with absolutely no guarantee that it’s true… which is the entire purpose of the app.

How EU’s app fails to keep users’ data safe

In another post on Twitter, Moore further went into what’s wrong with the app. He said, “It’s not easy to visualize the relay attack against the #EU #AgeVerification app from a user’s perspective, so here it is:”Even if the app works exactly as designed, the website & verification process is entirely decoupled & ‘anonymous’The architecture assumes you’ll send the request to your device, which contains your biometric data. But, it can go to any device, anywhere in the world… and because the phone has no way to know who initiated the process, the child still passes age verification. The assertion is the user is over 18. In reality, the app is responding to say the owner of this Android device is over 18. It doesn’t know who the user is… how can it know their age? This is the current design, not a bug. They thought the ISO/IEC 18013-7 Annex C/DC API upgrade would protect against this, but CTAP only protects against external attackers, not the user wanting to bypass the system themselves – hence my description that we’ve replaced “I am over 18” with “someone is over 18” and it’s supposedly better. If (more likely when) this is exploited, will company Directors/staff still face fines, legal action or imprisonment for not protecting children?Once you’ve signed in, websites are highly unlikely to ask for age verification again… so this attack, even if it could be mitigated in some way (I can’t see how) only applies to new verifications.
