Dube, who was previously part of the RCB setup, had earlier reached the landmark in 992 balls, but Patidar overtook the all-rounder with his explosive batting style. Rajat Patidar’s rise in the IPL has been nothing short of sensational. Since making his debut in 2021, he has become one of the most dangerous middle-order batters for RCB. In only 55 IPL matches, the RCB captain has already smashed 100 sixes for the Bengaluru franchise.

He is now only the second Indian batter and overall fourth player to hit 100 or more sixes for RCB in IPL history. Patidar has played a key role in RCB taking the top spot on the point table. He is currently the team’s third-highest run-scorer in IPL 2026 with 393 runs.

Virat Kohli on top as RCB’s ultimate six machine

Meanwhile, the record for most sixes for RCB still belongs to Virat Kohli. The Indian batting superstar has smashed a mind-blowing 312 sixes in 281 IPL matches for the franchise over the last 19 years. Kohli is also the first and only cricketer in the world to hit 300 sixes for a single team in T20 cricket.

Behind Kohli on the RCB six-hitting list are two franchise legends — Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers. Gayle blasted 239 sixes in 85 matches for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, while De Villiers hammered 238 maximums during his unforgettable journey with the franchise.

RCB survive SRH blow thanks to strong NRR

Well, despite the heavy loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru still had one big positive. Their strong Net Run Rate helped them stay on the top in the IPL 2026 points table with 18 points from 14 games, which keeps them in a strong position heading into the playoffs.

RCB, Gujarat Titans, and SRH have all finished the league stage with 18 points each, and their NRR has decided the top-three rankings. While the top three playoff spots are confirmed, the fight for the last remaining place is still very intense. Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, and Kolkata Knight Riders are all still alive in the race and battling hard to grab that final spot.
