RCB Announce Their Retention List for 2027

Defending Women’s Premier League champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru have announced their RCB WPL 2027 retained players list, keeping 13 players while releasing four ahead of the upcoming player auction.

RCB have largely backed the squad that won the WPL 2026 title, with captain Smriti Mandhana, Richa Ghosh, Shreyanka Patil and several other key players staying with the franchise.

One of the biggest developments is the return of Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry. She missed the entire WPL 2026 season due to personal reasons but has confirmed her availability for the next edition.

RCB, however, have released Australian all-rounder Grace Harris along with Linsey Smith, Dayalan Hemalatha and Gautami Naik.

RCB WPL 2027 Retained Players List With Salary

RCB have retained 13 players from their title-winning setup. The salary figures below are based on their existing WPL 2026 contract/retention values.

The four players retained before the 2026 mega auction were Mandhana for ₹3.50 crore, Richa for ₹2.75 crore, Perry for ₹2 crore and Shreyanka for ₹60 lakh. The remaining players were signed at the auction or, in Satghare’s case, later joined the squad as a replacement.

RCB WPL 2027 Released Players With Salary

RCB have released four players before the 2027 auction, including two overseas cricketers.

Grace Harris is the biggest name among the released players. RCB had bought the Australian power-hitter for ₹75 lakh at the WPL 2026 mega auction.

England left-arm spinner Linsey Smith and Indian all-rounder Dayalan Hemalatha were both signed for ₹30 lakh, while Gautami Naik had joined RCB for ₹10 lakh.

Ellyse Perry Set To Return For RCB In WPL 2027

The return of Ellyse Perry is a major boost for the defending champions.

Perry was retained by RCB for ₹2 crore before the WPL 2026 mega auction but later withdrew from the season due to personal reasons. RCB brought in Indian seam-bowling all-rounder Sayali Satghare as her replacement for ₹30 lakh.

Despite not playing in 2026, RCB have continued to back Perry and retained her for the next season after she confirmed her availability.

Her return gives RCB another experienced top-order batter and a useful seam-bowling option alongside a squad that already has several quality all-rounders.

RCB Retain Four Overseas Players For WPL 2027

Perry provides experience and all-round ability, while Voll strengthens the top order. De Klerk gives the side a seam-bowling all-rounder, and Bell remains one of their biggest weapons with the new ball.

RCB have released their other two overseas players from the previous season, Grace Harris and Linsey Smith.

Lauren Bell And Nadine de Klerk Rewarded After Excellent WPL 2026

RCB’s decision to retain Lauren Bell and Nadine de Klerk comes after both played important roles in their 2026 title-winning campaign.

Bell finished the tournament with 12 wickets and an economy rate of around 5.5. She was particularly impressive in the final against Delhi Capitals, conceding just 19 runs from her four overs despite DC scoring 203/4.

Nadine de Klerk was even more productive with the ball. The South African all-rounder finished with 16 wickets, just one behind the tournament’s joint-leading wicket-takers.

Their performances gave RCB control in different phases of the innings and both will remain important parts of the bowling attack in WPL 2027.

Georgia Voll Retained After Match-Winning WPL Final Performance

Georgia Voll’s retention was also expected after her contribution to RCB’s second WPL title.

Chasing 204 against Delhi Capitals in the WPL 2026 final, Voll scored 79 from 54 balls and added a record 165 runs for the second wicket with Smriti Mandhana.

Mandhana smashed 87 from just 41 deliveries as RCB reached 204/4 in 19.4 overs, completing the highest successful run chase in WPL history and winning the final by six wickets.

The performance further established Voll as an important part of RCB’s top-order plans.

RCB Keep Their Indian Core Intact

RCB have made very few changes to their Indian core.

Captain Smriti Mandhana continues to lead the side after an outstanding WPL 2026 campaign in which she finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer with 377 runs.

Richa Ghosh and Shreyanka Patil remain two important members of the setup, while Radha Yadav, Pooja Vastrakar and Arundhati Reddy provide plenty of experience across the bowling and all-round departments.

The franchise has also retained Prema Rawat, Sayali Satghare and Prathyusha Kumar, giving the squad enough Indian depth before entering the auction.

When Is The WPL 2027 Auction?

The WPL 2027 player auction will take place on October 28, 2026, at the Grand Hyatt in Kochi.

The fifth edition of the Women’s Premier League is scheduled to run from January 14 to February 7, 2027.

With most of their championship-winning squad already retained, RCB will enter the auction with a relatively settled core. Their main task will be to use the available slots to add depth and find the right combinations around Mandhana, Perry, Richa, Bell, de Klerk and Voll.

The RCB WPL 2027 retained players list clearly shows that the defending champions have preferred continuity rather than making major changes after their successful 2026 campaign.
