RCB, the defending champions in IPL 2026, have managed to secure the top rank among IPL franchises ranked based on their net worth in 2026. Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians follow.
The IPL is truly enriched by the culture of top-tier players sharing a platform with several youngsters from around the globe, and has functioned as a platform where true potential has often been valued and has also been shown the light. However, it also remains one of the most commercially successful franchise leagues in the world.
The IPL was a massive example in the game of cricket, and several boards and several nations followed the trend of T20 leagues, but none could match the anticipation and the thrill of the IPL. Today, IPL franchises make thousands of crores, and the BCCI earns massive revenues from the IPL, making it a financial triumph for everyone associated with the league.
RCB secures the top ranking; who are the other two in the top three teams with the highest net worth in the IPL?
As is known to all, two of the IPL franchises were auctioned before the start of the IPL 2026 season. One was the former champion Rajasthan Royals, and the other was the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the defending champion from last season.
After the recent auction, the Royal Challengers are currently the team with the highest net worth, that is, of INR 16706 crores, making them the costliest franchise in the history of the IPL.
Following the Royals in the list of top three are the Mumbai Indians and the Rajasthan Royals. The Rajasthan Royals are second with INR 15300 crores, while the Mukesh Ambani-owned Mumbai Indians are much behind with INR 13500 crores.
Sunrisers Hyderabad to Punjab Kings: Low-worth teams at the top of the points table in IPL 2026
Chennai Super Kings no longer hold onto the top three spot and are now fourth in the list of IPL teams with the highest net worth. Lucknow Super Giants are the last team in that slab of franchises over INR 10k crore.
Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and the Punjab Kings are the three teams that are not worth as much as the other teams. Despite their net worth of INR 9600, 8800, and 8000 crores, respectively, they are all placed among the top five teams in the points table.
Punjab Kings are second on the points table, with Sunrisers Hyderabad now at the top. The Gujarat Titans are fifth and are in the race to the playoffs with massive chances left to finish in that top four.
Is RCB’s defending champions tag adding to their net worth in 2026?
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won their first title after a long wait of 18 seasons. RCB were already known to be the team with massive stardom and net worth, but surely this title triumph adds immense value to their side and increases their net worth to a whopping height.
RCB have been seen in promising form this season as well, and chances are more than fair that they could manage to defend their title this season. If the Bengaluru-based side manages to do so, then RCB’s value in terms of money and fanbase would be unmatchable by any team in the world of cricket.
