Riyan Parag undergoes successful surgery after troubling IPL 2026

Good news for the fans of Team India and Rajasthan Royals (RR) as their skipper Riyan Parag is on the way to a rehabilitation phase after the successful shoulder surgery. The Rajasthan Royals captain shares a photo of himself along with a heartfelt note to provide some updates on his shoulder injury.

Parag had to struggle because of an issue in shoulder during the IPL 2026 season. He needed to undergo surgery, which was done successfully, as the batter informed on the afternoon of June 11.

“For everyone who’s been asking, the surgery is done and went well,” Riyan Parag wrote in his Instagram post. He further mentions that the past couple of years tested him hard both physically and mentally.

“The past two years have tested me in ways I never expected. There were good days, frustrating days, and days when simply getting through a game was a challenge. But I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way,” he added.

Parag, however, refuses to give up and is ready to take on new challenges ahead. “Now comes a different challenge- recovery, rehab, and patience. I’ll be back doing what I love soon. See you on the other side,” he wrote further.

Indian Premier League franchise Punjab Kings (PBKS) wishes a speedy recovery to the Rajasthan Royals captain. “Wishing you a speedy recovery, Riyan!” Punjab Kings commented on Riyan Parag’s post on Instagram.

The RR skipper sustained an underwhelming season with the bat in the IPL 2026 season

Riyan Parag’s IPL 2026 season remained mostly cool. It was his first Indian Premier League season as a full-time captain of the Rajasthan Royals. After the departure of Sanju Samson ahead of the 2025 season, the franchise appointed Parag, the homegrown talent, as their skipper. He led the team to the play-offs but missed the final. In Qualifier 2, they lost to the Gujarat Titans and crashed out of the title race.

In the season, the 24-year-old scored 309 runs in 14 matches and as many innings, for an average of 23.76. In that number of innings, Riyan Parag delivered only a couple of half-centuries. He grabbed the headlines in the middle of the season for the wrong reason. During a live match, he was caught vaping inside the dressing room, which caused widespread controversy across social media platforms.

Parag’s manager shares a story on Instagram

In an Instagram story, Riyan Parag’s manager, Astha, shares another message to the cricket fans. She urges the cricket fans not to share anything negative about the cricket as Parag is currently going through a difficult phase of his career.

“If you’re unable to send blessings and good wishes, that is your choice. But at this time, please refrain from spreading negativity and toxicity. Kindness costs nothing, and sometimes silence speaks louder than hate. Wishing strength, healing, and a speedy recovery,” the Instagram story reads.
