The Mumbai Cricket Association confirmed on September 23, 2026 that Aspects Sports has won the rights to field the ninth franchise in the T20 Mumbai League, with the new side representing the Navi Mumbai region. The team is set to make its competitive debut in the 2027 edition of the tournament.
Aspects Sports, owned by Aspect Global Ventures, secured the franchise on a six-year deal valued at INR 106.88 crore in total, with INR 12.21 crore earmarked for the first season alone. Aksha Kamboj, Executive Chairperson of Aspect Global Ventures, welcomed the development.
“We are delighted to associate with the T20 Mumbai League and represent Navi Mumbai. Our vision for Aspect Sports is to build a strong and diverse sporting platform that creates opportunities for athletes, engages communities and contributes to the growth of sport across India. Cricket is an important part of this journey, and our association with the T20 Mumbai League marks a significant step towards building a long-term presence across multiple sporting disciplines. We look forward to working with the MCA and the league to create meaningful opportunities for talent and build a strong connection with fans,” Kamboj stated.
The announcement followed the conclusion of the league’s fourth edition in June 2026, which was contested by eight franchises. Rohit Sharma serves as the Face of the League, and the 2026 edition featured prominent India players including Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Shivam Dube, Shardul Thakur, Sarfaraz Khan and Tushar Deshpande.

What does the franchise deal mean for the league’s long-term structure?
With the Navi Mumbai side confirmed, the T20 Mumbai League will grow from eight to nine teams ahead of the 2027 season. The six-year commercial arrangement gives the new franchise a stable foundation within the league’s ecosystem.
