Tilak Varma, the Mumbai Indians’ batter, has fans who have flooded the comment section of Arshdeep Singh’s Instagram post. This emerged after a major fiasco involving the two Indian teammates and their fun chat, which was escalated into a racist war.
The Mumbai Indians defeated the Punjab Kings at Dharamshala, and hence, this marked a major dip in the Punjab Kings’ chances of sealing a spot in the playoffs. However, the drama that has taken centre stage is some BTS chat between two players from the two sides.
Arshdeep Singh takes ‘andhera’ jibe at Tilak Varma; Indian cricketers’ light-hearted exchange takes a massive shape
Arshdeep Singh and Tilak Varma are both Indian cricketers and have been part of the same T20I squad that also recently won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2026. Being part of the same team internationally, the two players who share the dressing room might have the habit of poking fun at each other.
Before the start of the match at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, Arshdeep Singh’s Snapchat video revealed how he poked fun at Tilak Varma for his dark-coloured skin tone. He also suggested Naman Dhir, the Punjabi cricketer in the MI camp, as the real ‘Noor’ from Punjab.
This had infuriated the cricket fans and also several former cricketers, who did not cite this as mere fun but called it a racist comment towards a fellow cricketer. Laxman Sivaramakrishnan had also demanded a ban on the PBKS pacer.
Tilak Varma fans have roasted Arshdeep Singh, the pacer, for his ‘andhera’ jibe at his Indian teammate, Tilak Varma. They flooded Arshdeep Singh’s comment section on the star’s official Instagram page with sarcastic remarks.
While a few of the fans clearly poked fun at the cricketer for Tilak Varma’s magnificent innings, which have dimmed the chances of Punjab Kings’ clear chance to make it to the top two of the points table, the other fans were more direct and humiliating in their insult.
However, some claimed that Tilak’s complexion has nothing to do with his looks, and he looks better than the Punjab pacer. However, this remained an unwanted number of words used against the cricketers, who are friends before being competitors.

Tilak Varma’s magnificent innings landed PBKS’ playoff chances in a fix
Ryan Rickelton missed out on a half-century in the match but handed the Mumbai Indians a promising start. Tilak Varma, the left-handed batting master for the Mumbai Indians, played a promising knock with the bat.
Tilak scored 75 runs off just 33 balls and was unbeaten in the knock while leading them to a massive win by a margin of six wickets. Will Jacks also contributed significantly with the bat and played a stunning cameo of 25 runs off just 10 balls.
Punjab Kings are in a must-win situation to see themselves off to the playoffs this season, after having lost the last five games in a row. They have just two matches left this season.
