Traffic diversions will be in place around the Exhibition Grounds at Nampally here, from 6 a.m. on June 8 to 8 p.m. on June 9, in connection with the annual Fish Prasadam distribution programme, the Hyderabad Traffic Police said on Sunday.
According to the advisory issued by the Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad City, moderate traffic congestion is expected on roads surrounding the venue due to the large number of devotees expected to attend the event. Diversions will be implemented on a need basis to facilitate smooth traffic movement and ensure commuter safety.
People arriving in four-wheelers from the Nampally side will be required to park their vehicles at Gruha Kalpa, Gagan Vihar and Chandra Vihar and proceed on foot to Gate No. 2 of the Exhibition Grounds. Visitors arriving in buses and vans from M.J. Market will be dropped at Gandhi Bhavan Bus Stop, while those coming from the Nampally side will alight at Gruha Kalpa Bus Stop before proceeding to the venue.
VIP pass holders approaching from M.J. Market will travel via Gandhi Bhavan and Adab Hotel lane to reach the designated VIP entry, while those coming from Nampally will take a U-turn at Gandhi Bhavan before proceeding to the VIP parking area.
Two-wheeler users coming from M.J. Market will be directed to park at the Manoranjan Complex parking area, while those arriving from Nampally will park near Bheem Rao Bada beside Shezan Hotel. Auto-rickshaw passengers attending the event will be dropped off in front of Shezan Hotel.
Government vehicles, buses and vans will be accommodated at the Central Warehousing Corporation parking area. Water tankers of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board and Fisheries Department vehicles carrying fish to the venue, along with vehicles of voluntary organisations carrying food materials with valid passes, will be permitted entry through Gate No. 3.
As part of the traffic management plan, vehicles approaching from the M.J. Market side will be diverted towards Abids and GPO, Nampally. General traffic moving from M.J. Bridge and Begum Bazar Chatri towards Nampally will be diverted at Alaska Junction towards Darusalam and Ek Minar.
Private travel buses and heavy vehicles will be diverted at M.J. Market and the AR Petrol Pump towards GPO. Such vehicles will not be permitted on the stretch between M.J. Market, Taj Island and vice versa during the event period.
