A tree pruner was electrocuted at a plantation in Hosagadde, Sakleshpur taluk, on Wednesday.
Dushyanth, 40, of Rajendrapura near Belagodu, was pruning trees at a plantation owned by Mohan when the aluminium ladder he was using came in contact with a live wire, killing him on the spot.
The co-workers rushed him to the government hospital in Sakleshpur, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
His wife, Usha, has filed a complaint with the Sakleshpur police, alleging negligence on the part of the plantation owner. She said that work should never have been assigned near an overhead live wire.
It may be noted that a worker from Tamil Nadu died in a similar incident at Karemane near Chikkamagaluru on May 3.
