The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match no.36, was in the western part of India, as the Rajasthan Royals (RR) took on the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the reverse fixture of the tournament. It was the second game of the doubleheader on Saturday. SRH beat RR by 5 wickets. This match was also a high-scoring one.
SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bat first. The Australia all-rounder came back after missing the first half of the tournament. He made a couple of changes in the match, and Rajasthan went with the same squad in the match. The fans come in large numbers to witness the first game in Jaipur.
IPL 2026: RR vs SRH Match Result:
After being invited to bat first, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi went into absolute carnage in the first over. He counter-attacked Praful Hinge, who picked him in the last fixture for a duck. The Southpaw smacked him for 25 runs in the first over of the game. It was a blistering start for the Royals. Yashasvi Jaiswal could not score much and was back after scoring 10 runs.
Later on, Sooryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel stitched a good partnership, and the former brought up his fifty in 15 balls and did not seem to stop continuing his striking at a rate of over 200. He scored his hundred in just 36 balls and put the Royals in the driver’s seat.
Vaibhav was out on the score of 103 runs off 37 balls, then Donovan Ferreira played an impactful knock of 33 off 16 balls, and Shimron Hetmyer’s 11 runs were also crucial, as RR scored 228/6 in their 20 overs.
Coming out to chase the Sunrisers lost Travis Head early once again, as the Southpaw’s struggles continued, and Jofra Archer picked a wicket in the first over once again this season. Then Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan stitched a partnership between the two and started the rampage from both ends. After the power play, they were at the score of 89/1.
The two stitched a 100 run-partnership between the two. Abhishek brought up the fifty in just 24 balls. Kishan also brought his half-century in the same number of balls as his partner. The partnership was broken by Ferreira as Abhishek was dismissed on the score of 57 runs. Kishan was also dismissed soon for 74 runs.
After that, Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Reddy’s small, impactful innings of 29 and 36 runs respectively helped the Orange Army chase the target of 229 runs with 9 balls to spare. The Orange Army does a double over the Royals in the IPL.
