Actually, the Indian billionaire businessman Anil Agarwal openly said that Bihar deserves its own IPL franchise and believes the state has enough talent to compete at the highest level.
Agarwal, who was born in Patna, felt proud for Bihar’s contribution to Indian cricket. He pointed out that the state has produced several talented cricketers over the years despite not having the same level of facilities and support as other major cricket centers in the country.

Anil Agarwal wrote on X (formerly Twitter) in Hindi, which translates to: “Don’t you think Bihar deserves an unparalleled team of its own, just like Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Kolkata Knight Riders? The soil of Bihar has given the country many exceptional cricketers.”
He mentioned names like Ishan Kishan, who made headlines with his explosive batting for India, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and also praised young fast bowler Sakib Hussain from Gopalganj to highlight the cricketing talent from Bihar.
The business tycoon feels Bihar’s players have shown enough talent to deserve a bigger platform. He also questioned the lack of recognition of Bihar in the Indian circuit.
He further added, “Ishan Kishan, born in Patna, scored the fastest ODI double century in terms of balls faced. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi from Samastipur became the youngest player to make an IPL debut. And today, the eyes of the entire world are on the brilliant bowling of Sakib Hussain, born into an ordinary family in Gopalganj. But one thing always bothers me: why hasn’t our Bihar yet earned the recognition and identity in cricket that we rightfully deserve?”

Anil Agarwal sends strong message to BCCI and IPL; promises to help Bihar cricket grow
The Vedanta Group chairman believes that Bihar players can become world-class superstars if players get the right coaching, stadiums, and opportunities at a young age.
He added, “It has always been my dream and endeavor to ensure that the youth of Bihar get full opportunities to excel in every field and that our players receive world-class infrastructure and support right here in Bihar. I’m fully confident that if our children get the right inspiration and facilities, the team emerging from our Bihar will become the best in the world.”
The billionaire businessman also promised support for improving cricket facilities in the state, so local players do not have to leave the state to chase their dreams. Back in 2022, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants joined the tournament, and now Vedanta Group sent a strong message to the BCCI and IPL over their desire to see Bihar as a part of the league in the future.
He ended the post by saying, “And I stand firmly with the youth of Bihar in this effort. I will provide unconditional support from my side to advance Bihar’s cricket team and its players here. For me, Bihar is not just a state—it’s an emotion. And now the time has come for the talent of our soil to shine on the field.”
