Former Team India pacer Santhakumaran Sreesanth asks the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to play both Virat Kohli and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi together in the T20Is when the Indian cricket team goes to play the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

To mark the return of cricket into the event, and to announce the arrival of the Indian cricket team in style, S. Sreesanth asks the BCCI to form the strongest possible team for the Olympics. Sreesanth advises the cricket board to include both Virat and Vaibhav in the T20I team exclusively for the tournament.
Virat Kohli retired from the Twenty20 Internationals right after winning the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup. He retired from the Tests as well, but continues playing for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and in the One Day International format for the national team.
A memorable IPL 2026 season for Virat and Vaibhav
IPL 2026 turned into another memorable season for Virat as he helped RCB to win titles in two consecutive seasons. Virat Kohli was named Player of the Match for his brilliant batting in the final against the Gujarat Titans in the summit clash.
The previous season of the league will be remembered for a long time for another reason: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals prodigy wreaked havoc in the tournament with his extraordinary batting skills. Top-ranked bowlers across the globe, like Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and many other bowlers, went clueless against the emerging opener.
The southpaw finished the IPL 2026 season as the top-scorer with 776 runs to his name and forced the BCCI selectors to hand him a maiden India call-up. At the age of only 15, the Bihar-born is on the verge of making a debut for India at the highest level of the game.

“The work he has performed is unbelievable. You are talking about Olympic gold. I request that Virat play in the team. It will be a mix of seniors and juniors. Sooryavanshi with Virat. That will be amazing,” S. Sreesanth said in a video on the YouTube channel, Sports With Ravishh.
Sreesanth urges BCCI to include both Virat Kohli and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the T20I team against. The former cricketer, praising Kohli’s fitness at the age of 37, strongly believes that he will play without any issue if the board considers him again for the shortest format of the game.
“The selectors should keep Virat Kohli in T20s because look at his fitness. This might be controversial, but I would request the selectors, ‘Please put Virat in the Olympics’,” he added.
On paper, Virat Kohli playing side by side with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi sounds amazing, but as of now, it is looking far from reality.
