Washington Sundar drops Virat Kohli on his first ball in RCB vs GT clash

Washington Sundar makes a grave mistake that might cost the Gujarat Titans the match as he drops Virat Kohli for a duck in their clash against RCB at the Chinnaswamy.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s batting unit is already crippled as they lack Phil Salt while chasing a massive 200+ total against the Gujarat Titans, who unconditionally have one of the finest bowling units in the IPL.

Jacob Bethell is a very fine player, yet he is tough to depend on, as he is playing his first game in this IPL. Hence, the massive scoring burden belongs to the veteran chasemaster Virat Kohli, who will play at one of his favourite venues to chase in India.

Washington Sundar drops Virat Kohli for a duck off Mohammed Siraj’s bowling

Mohammed Siraj is the most successful pacer at this venue, the Chinnaswamy Stadium, and he has had the knack of picking early wickets in the powerplay. Last year when the Titans played here, Siraj was their highest wicket-taker, running a rampage in the powerplay.

He bowled a looping delivery to Virat Kohli, and the batter was slightly early on the shot and edged it for a simple grab to Washington Sundar at short mid-wicket. 10 out of 10 times that catch is completed without any fumble, but not this time from Washington.

Gujarat would have had their biggest positive in the game with the chasmaster gone for a duck, but Washington Sundar’s fumble might cost the Titans the match if he is not dismissed early in the match.

Mohammed Siraj dismissed Jacob Bethell in the powerplay

Mohammed Siraj was distraught after Washington Sundar dropped that sitter in his first over and almost gave away the game to the RCB, who instead got off to a stunning start with runs coming from both ends.

He returned with his second over and was hit for two cracking boundaries by the English opener, who made his return for RCB this season. However, Siraj backed himself and forced him to cut one through the point region.

Jacob Bethell played the shot with great power; however, unlike Washington Sundar, Shahrukh Khan in the cover region timed his jump to perfection and took a stunning catch to dismiss the RCB opener and hand Siraj another wicket at the Chinnaswamy.

Virat Kohli unleashes his 300th six against Rashid Khan

Virat Kohli unleashed his most raw version after being dropped for a duck by the GT all-rounder. He guided the ball with ease, hit Kagiso Rabada with sheer domination, and rode over the bounce from Prasidh Krishna.

Kohli was smacking the pacers to all parts of the ground, and Shubman Gill brought his trump card in Rashid Khan against him. However, Kohli smashed him for his 300th six in the IPL over the long-on region and then followed it with a cracking drive through the extra-cover region.

Kohli rushed to his half-century and has once again started his chase for that orange cap alongside leading the chase from the front once again at the Chinnaswamy.
