A life-sized impersonator of US President Donald Trump has been put inside a jail-like cage mounted on a billboard in Tehran, where he can be seen rattling the bars and taking a nap in a staged display targeting Washington over a deadly strike on an Iranian wedding. The installation, placed above Tajrish Square, one of Tehran’s busiest transport hubs, features an actor wearing a Trump mask and wig inside a mock prison cell equipped with a bed, toilet and sink. The performance has drawn crowds, with passersby stopping to film the spectacle. An electronic billboard behind the cage displays images related to a US strike that hit a wedding in the southern Iranian town of Kuhestak last month. The display also features crime-scene imagery, linking the attack to its message against the US president. The installation was unveiled on Tuesday by Tehran’s Beautification Organization, which is affiliated with the city’s municipality, according to Iranian state media. It appears to be part of a 15-day campaign highlighting the wedding strike. The display comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States following US and Israeli attacks on Iran in February. Tehran has increasingly used public billboards to deliver political messages against Washington, including a previous display showing Trump lying in a graffiti-covered coffin.Iranian authorities and supporters have also circulated online memes and videos mocking Trump and his administration during the conflict. The wedding strike has become a focus of the latest campaign. US Central Command had said it was aware of Iranian reports about the incident and that American forces do not target civilians. A visual analysis by The New York Times, along with an assessment by a weapons expert, indicated that an American bomb struck the wedding as US forces carried out attacks in southern Iran.
